Kindergarten horrors: in Barnaul, teachers locked children in the toilet and beat them

The shocking details of the state of emergency that occurred in the Happy Baby kindergarten in the city of Barnaul became known. The details were revealed by the investigating authorities of the Russian Investigative Committee for the region.

The story begins in 2021. Parents suspected that something was happening in the kindergarten that frightened their children, they decided to watch the video surveillance recordings, but they turned out to be erased. They had to be restored in Moscow. After seeing the records, it became clear that the teachers regularly mocked the children – they locked the pupils in the toilet, pantry or locker room and beat them with toys and books. According to the children themselves, if they did not want to sleep, they could be beaten and wrapped in a blanket over their heads.

A criminal case was initiated against 4 educators and the former head of a private kindergarten. The women did not admit their guilt, but the court considered it proven and awarded them suspended sentences with a ban on professional activities. The court sentenced the former director to three years probation and a fine of 300,000 rubles. She was also accused of having produced fictitious documents for the purchase and sale of the premises, the cost of which was significantly inflated. The damage from these actions was estimated at 14 million rubles.
