Cooperative manager said that they have the respective insurance in order to compensate the relatives of the deceased and injured.
I want it, TUNGURAHUA
In the old municipal palace of Quero, Tungurahua province, the burning chapel was erected to say goodbye to Danny Lema and his little daughter Valentina, two of the eleven fatalities of the Trasandina cooperative bus accident, which fell into an abyss at the height of the Juan de Velasco parish, Colta canton, Chimborazo province, at dawn last Monday. The unit covered the Guayaquil-Ambato route.
At the head of the coffins of the father and his daughter a giant photograph was placed in which he is smiling while holding the little girl in his arms, in addition bouquets of flowers and white balloons were placed on the ceiling. The burial was scheduled for the afternoon of this Tuesday 19.
Camila Lema said that her brother was traveling to Guayaquil to celebrate with the family that lives in the Main Port the seven years of her niece’s birthday. On the return to Quero, where they lived, the accident happened.
Recalling his brother, Lema called on drivers to drive with caution when they get behind the wheel, since accidents cause painful situations due to the loss of loved ones, although he acknowledged that accidents are not at fault on some occasions of the drivers.
For his part, Napoleón Guerrero, manager of the Trasandina cooperative, lamented the tragic accident and assured that of this magnitude it is the first in 60 years of service. For now, he argued that they wait for the notification of the sanction to be imposed by the National Transit Agency (ANT) to raise the defense before it.
He added that they have the respective insurance to try to compensate the relatives of the deceased and also the injured, who are even given the necessary help.
Guerrero warned that they still do not know with certainty what the cause of the accident was, but that it is not ruled out that it was related to the state of the road in that area.
He also commented that on the same day, Monday, he met with all employees, personnel from the operational part of the units and partners, to remind them of the responsibilities they have with users.
The transport units will undergo a new technical review, in order to avoid any inconvenience, he added. (I)
