These are the centers enabled in all the provinces of Ecuador to be tested for COVID-19

There are about 1,300 free points authorized by the Ministry of Health, but there are also private laboratories that carry out tests against SARS-CoV-19.

In Ecuador there are more than 1,300 centers for COVID-19 diagnostic tests, according to information from the Ministry of Public Health. They are health centers, basic and general hospitals, laboratories. The opening hours are from Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 16:00.

The test that is performed is a nasopharyngeal swab with which it will be known whether or not you have the virus.

People who have symptoms, such as cough, fever, muscle pain, others, or who have suspicions, can approach these places, nationwide, to have a sample taken.

Public service points by provinces

In zone 1: Carchi, Imbabura, Sucumbíos and Esmeraldas there are 281 sites for the detection of the disease.

In zone 2: Napo, Orellana and rural Pichincha can go to 36 spaces.

In zone 3: Chimborazo, Pastaza, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua there are 31 points for the analysis of samples to identify SARS-CoV-2, the cause of the COVID-19 disease.

In zone 4: Manabí and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, 296 health centers are enabled.

In zone 5: Guayas, with the exception of the cantons of Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón, Los Ríos, Santa Elena, Bolívar and Galápagos, there are 145 authorized points.

In zone 6: Azuay, Cañar and Morona Santiaago there are 125 spaces for the detection of COVID-19.

In zone 7: El Oro, Loja and Zamora Chinchipe there are 173 sites to diagnose.

In zone 8: Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón, 97 sites are activated.

In zone 9: Metropolitan District of Quito there are 143 health centers.

In Guayaquil, the authorities reminded citizens that if someone has symptoms of Covid-19, they can approach the Bicentenario Hospital, Day Hospitals and mobile clinics to be treated with antigen tests.

Private laboratories

Remember that there are also private laboratories, such as Interlab, Omnihospital, Interhospital, Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, Laboratorio Alcívar, Hospital Luis Vernaza, Universidad Espíritu Santo, which offer sample collection and processing of results, whether those requested for travel or for having suspicions of contagion of coronavirus. These are: PCR (results up to 16 hours) and antigens (results up to 4 hours).
