In Portoviejo, the capital of Manabí, users have 60 points available in various sectors of the canton, through neighborhood banking establishments, for the payment of property taxes.
In addition to this, users can also cancel these obligations through digital platforms. As in previous years, in the first 15 days of January taxpayers have a 10% discount.
Mónica Bravo, treasurer of the municipality of Portoviejo, indicated that the enabling of payment points in stores and on platforms led to a slight decrease in the presence of the public in traditional establishments for the process, such as at the headquarters of the College of Civil Engineers of Manabí ( CICM), which has twelve windows to collect this fee, and also in the offices of Portoaguas, a municipal public water company in this canton.
“With the digital platform they can access payments without having to come here (CICM headquarters), and it has been very well received, there are fewer people than the previous year,” said Bravo.
What was observed is a large number of older adults making the payment at the windows of the CICM headquarters. For example, Policarpo Demera, resident of the Los Mangos citadel, arrived this Monday morning to cancel the properties, which according to him, in 2022 had a reduction of $ 0.30 in relation to what he paid in 2021.
From this Monday, January 3 to Friday, January 14, the offices of the CICM headquarters and Portoaguas will attend from 06:00 to 18:00 for those who wish to cancel their properties in these first days of the year.
Also during Saturdays 8 and 15 of this month, these two places will be attended from 08:00 to 12:00, according to Maldonado.

Users can also make payments through the virtual pages of the Pacific and Produbanco banks.
Additionally, the option of making deposits or transfers through the Pacific, International, Produbanco, Guayaquil, Bolivariano and Pichincha banks is available. Once the process has been completed, you must notify the email pagoenlinea@manta.gob.ec with the photo of the transaction attached.
The municipal building is open from this Monday from 05:00 to 18:00. There you can pay in cash, certified check or with credit cards.
Meanwhile, from 08:00 to 17:00, cash payments of the property tax are received at the Municipal Transit Agency, Public Water Company (EPAM), Central market, Los Esteros market, Council for the Protection of Rights and Property Registry (Mall del Pacífico).
