Bastrykin found Russophobia in foreign fiction

Investigative Committee chairman Alexander Bastrykin considers the radicalization of adolescents and young people to be part of a hybrid war waged by Western countries, trying to destabilize the situation in Russia.

“Western cinematography, producers of computer games that attract young people, are thoroughly imbued with the desire to present our country in a negative light. As we know, their heroes with Russian surnames and obviously exaggerated personal qualities often act as antagonists of various works and computer games, “Bastrykin said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

He noted that the logic of confronting the “Russian threat” is sewn into the plot of many works of even fantastic genre, which makes them also a latent weapon of propaganda, the head of the UK added.

“We are faced with the imposition of alien values and ideals on our young generation. The national security strategy determines that information and psychological sabotage and the ‘westernization’ of culture increase the threat of the Russian Federation losing its cultural sovereignty, ”Bastrykin added.

“I share the position that such a ‘product’ is part of a hybrid war waged against Russia by some Western institutions. Having staked on a blow to young people, they perfectly understand how the situation in our country can be destabilized. It is no secret that such methods are used in relation to other states, and many experts have already touched on this topic before me, ”Bastrykin said.

In his opinion, using digital technologies, the media and the Internet, on the one hand, they are discrediting Russia in the international arena, and on the other hand, they are hitting the country from the inside. “And we must act promptly and systematically to respond to these challenges,” – said the chairman of the UK.

“Recently, the Security Council discussed the problem of persisting threats associated with the activities of illegal groups on the Internet with the aim of radicalizing adolescents and young people, making them participate in the use of prohibited substances, participation in extremist activities. And this is also part of the same hybrid war that is being waged against our citizens, ”the head of the RF IC stressed. He added that in order to resolve the current situation, it is necessary not to prohibit anything, but to offer young people what will really interest them, motivate and move them forward.
