The RF President’s Property Management Department spent 117 million rubles on organizing yesterday’s big press conference of Vladimir Putin, with almost 1.4 million rubles. of this amount were spent on “antiquated” processing of journalists with silver particles, “Novaya Gazeta” reports, citing data from the Goszakupki portal.
As it turned out, six EZ GATE disinfection booths (model DG-7.2) under the Silver Mask trademark were rented.
The agent for the treatment itself, as well as the cabins, is produced by the Orenburg company “NPK Steril”. She claims that the sanitization is done using the “cold fog” method. The substance, which is used for disinfection, is developed “on the basis of a concentrate of silver cations”. The manufacturer claims that this product “is environmentally friendly, non-toxic and harmless to humans” and, moreover, is capable of “destroying 99.9% of viruses, including COVID-19 viruses.”
All journalists are treated with silver particles before Putin’s press conference. And it looks something like this.
This measure is necessary during a pandemic, the Kremlin said. And all the participants will be given protective masks with nanosilver and seated according to the required distance. pic.twitter.com/Vavl9bkT25

Meanwhile, in an interview with RBC, Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the RUDN University Sergei Voznesensky said that the treatment of journalists with silver particles does not affect viruses if the latter are already in the respiratory system. “It is not entirely justified to apply such measures to people who have passed a negative PCR test three times. <…> It smells a bit of populism, ”he said.
We add that on December 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin held the 17th big annual press conference. Almost 510 media representatives were accredited for the event. In 3 hours 56 minutes, the head of state answered 55 questions.
