Portoviejo makes measures more flexible and allows bars, discos and event rooms to be served on holidays, but with adjustments

PORTOVIEJO, Manabí

The Emergency Operations Committee (COE) of the Portoviejo canton established flexible measures for the operation of activities in the tourist productive sector during the days before and on Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

This decision of the Portoviejo COE was given at the request of the representatives of this union, who raised their protest after last Tuesday the national COE determined the closure of all these types of activities.

Thus, for example, it established that the event rooms will be able to function according to the category of each establishment, with a capacity of 50%. This capacity is also authorized for bars, discos and karaoke bars and restaurants, spaces that have been enabled to function.

From December 23, it will be mandatory to present the vaccination card or certificate to enter public places, by provision of the national COE

It will also allow the operation of restaurants, food courts, religious temples, entrepreneurship fairs, cinemas, theaters and gyms with 50% capacity and the opening hours will be according to the permits that were granted to each of these establishments.

Markets, fairs, supermarkets, shopping centers, museums, financial entities may have a capacity of up to 75% of their capacity, while tolerance centers may serve the public with up to 40% of the capacity.

What is kept forbidden will be mass concentrations, and the administrators of the establishments and event organizers are also urged to request the vaccination card that shows that people have applied the two doses against COVID-19.

Access to beaches and spas for tourist purposes will be up to 75% of the capacity, from Monday to Sunday. (I)
