The experiment involved two groups of volunteers suffering from both a tendency to hypertension and type II diabetes. The first group ate foods with a low fat content and a large amount of carbohydrates during the experiment, and pistachios were added to the diet of the second group.
A month later, scientists came to the conclusion that thanks to pistachios, the second group managed to significantly reduce blood pressure, they also increased cardiac output and improved some indicators of heart rate variability.
