The average cost of hull insurance policies in Russia increased in the third quarter of this year to 35.1 thousand rubles, showing an increase of 29.8% over the year, the Izvestia newspaper reports, citing materials from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
And the insurance companies confirm the trend. Market participants indicate that the main reasons for such dynamics were the rise in prices for new cars, spare parts, repairs and an increase in the number of insured events.
Moreover, the publication warns, a further rise in prices for voluntary auto insurance is expected at the end of 2021 and next year – premiums may grow by about 20%.
We also recall that on December 22 it became known that the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation agreed with the relevant departments on changes to the system of compulsory motor third party liability insurance (OSAGO), which provide for an increase in the threshold for payments for damage to life and health, and also prohibit taking into account the age of the car when calculating compensation.
