Criminal case opened after fire at TPP-1 in Ulan-Ude

Investigators of the second department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee (SU IC) in the Republic of Buryatia opened a criminal case after a fire at TPP-1 in Ulan-Ude. This is stated in a message on the website of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee.

Recall that on Thursday morning in the capital of Buryatia, the electrical wiring at CHPP-1 caught fire, as a result of which four boilers were turned off in conditions of low ambient temperatures in the city to minus 30 degrees, a republican-level emergency regime was introduced, and the supply of heat to houses was sharply reduced. Later, the fire was extinguished, now restoration work is underway, but the work of kindergartens and schools has been temporarily suspended.

The investigation does not exclude that the ignition of the electrical system in the cable compartment occurred as a result of violation of safety requirements at the CHPP, as a result of which damage was caused in the amount of more than 1 million rubles.

In the meantime, the authorities of Ulan-Ude are ready to resettle people in the event of an unfavorable scenario for eliminating the consequences of the accident at TPP-1 that happened on Thursday morning, and the head of Buryatia, Alexey Tsydenov, who is on a business trip in Syria, said in a video message that he was hurrying back to the region.
