Russia can still launch the remaining Nord Stream line – it only takes a week, but Germany does not want to. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin; the video was published on Telegram.
He admitted that Russia had redirected gas to other markets. “Of course, when we sold, we got more money, maybe it was more fun. On the other hand, the less we depend on energy, the better, because our non-energy part of the economy is growing at a rapid pace,” Putin emphasized, noting that the Russian Federation has begun to pay more attention to its own gasification.
At the same time, there is still a chance to reach an agreement, the Russian President noted. “In the end, everything depends only on the decision of the German government. “Nord Stream 2” – one line was preserved, despite the terrorist attack,” Putin added. “Unscrew the valve, say: “We want to receive.” Tomorrow they will start receiving. We need a week. But they don’t want to,” said the head of state. According to him, because of this decision in Germany there is a massive outflow of production to countries where energy resources are cheaper.
