Kommersant: Russian bloggers have learned to advertise alcohol without fear of fines and earning millions

Russian YouTube bloggers bypassed the ban on alcohol advertising on the Internet and earned about 175 million rubles. thanks to advertising “integrations” with alcohol brands between November 15, 2020 and November 15, 2021. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to the results of a study by the Yoloco analytical platform.

According to analysts, well-known brands such as William Lawson’s, Dewars, Belenkaya, Bacardi and Martin. They were advertised by Ksenia Sobchak, Leonid Parfenov, Ilya Varlamov, Yegor Creed and other famous personalities.

Although sensitive fines for advertising alcohol on the Internet began to be charged only in 2019–2020, this practice is becoming more common every year. Nevertheless, the fines provided for by Russian legislation turn out to be significantly less than the income from advertising promoted by a well-known blogger, and advertisers working with media personalities pre-budget FAS fines.
