Vice-head of the situation center of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Anatoly Tsygankov, shared information about weather conditions in various regions of Russia in an interview with RT. According to the expert, the cyclone is currently located over the Baltic states and affects the weather in the Leningrad region, Veliky Novgorod, Pskov and the Murmansk region.
Adverse weather conditions are also expected due to the cyclone in the Far East, Sakhalin and Primorye.
“Heavy precipitation is expected in Crimea – rain and snow, with a wind of 17 m/s. Heavy precipitation in the form of rain and snow is also predicted in the Krasnodar Territory. The wind speed there reaches 20 m/s,” said Tsygankov.
He also added that in the republics of Ingushetia, Chechnya, North Ossetia and Dagestan, the threat of avalanches remains due to precipitation.
“Today in Yakutia snow and wind at a speed of 20 m/s are expected. In the Khabarovsk Territory today snow and blizzards are forecast, and on the coast wind speeds can reach 25 m/s. In the Primorsky Territory, both today and tomorrow, snow and wind speeds of up to 21 m/s are forecast, and on the coast – up to 26 m/s. A strong snowstorm and almost hurricane-force winds at a speed of 27-32 m/s are expected on Sakhalin today and tomorrow. Tomorrow in the south of the Kamchatka Territory, heavy snowfalls and winds at speeds of up to 30 m/s are predicted,” summed up RT’s interlocutor.
