More than 70 SPbU students were evicted from a hostel in Peterhof due to a massive outbreak of coronavirus. This, as follows from the information in the virtual reception of the university, was announced by the first vice-rector Elena Chernova.
The first sick in the hostel number 8 on the street. Khalturin turned out to be a citizen of China, information on the state of health of which was received at the university on December 11.
“Employees of St. Petersburg State University promptly identified those living in the hostel who had contact with the sick person. They were moved to specially equipped dormitories in order to exclude contact with other students and to prevent further spread of the infection. Also, disinfection of living quarters and common areas was organized, PCR testing was organized, ”said Chernova.
29 students were tested positive for coronavirus and were hospitalized in a temporary hospital at Lenexpo.
Rospotrebnadzor employees started checking the hostel on December 15. Medical examinations and testing of all students living in the building are ongoing. If a coronavirus is detected, students are sent to the Baltiets Observatory.
“At the moment, 74 people have been temporarily relocated to the sanatorium. The duration of their stay is determined by the employees of Rospotrebnadzor. The exception is students who have a certificate of vaccination with Russian-made drugs, as well as those who recovered from coronavirus no more than six months ago, ”said the first vice-rector.
Recall that the emergency eviction of students became known the day before. Students will stay in the sanatorium for two weeks. Universities living in the observatory without conditions for full-fledged study have not yet received official information about the winter session and other nuances of the educational process.
