American mixed martial artist (MMA) Kevin Lee explained his decision to join the Eagle FC promotion. Reported by MMA Fighting.
The 29-year-old American admitted that after leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), he received several offers at once. However, he made a choice in favor of Eagle FC, which is owned by Khabib Nurmagomedov. Lee stressed that the reputation of the Russian fighter and former UFC champion influenced his decision.
Lee also claims that Eagle FC’s contract terms are better than what the UFC has offered him. It is noteworthy that payments to the American will be made in bitcoins.
Lee is the latest UFC fighter to become part of the Eagle FC roster. Nurmagomedov’s promotion was also strengthened by Rashad Evans and Renan Barao.
Eagle FC will host its first tournament in the United States on January 28th. In the main battle of the event, Russian heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov will fight Tyrone Spong.
