Two majors were detained: it became known who organized and made money from illegal migration in St. Petersburg

After security forces discovered and blocked a large channel of illegal migration in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, police checks and detentions began. According to 78.ru, at least five people are involved in the case: the organizer, two employees of commercial organizations and two police officers.

Employees of the internal security department of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that the organizer of the criminal group was a 26-year-old young man. He was helped by employees of commercial organizations – a 28-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, who provided foreigners with places for temporary residence. Two police majors were also detained, who, using their official position, created conditions for obtaining patents for employment without leaving the Russian Federation.

It was established that the detainees worked in premises on the territory of the tourist village of Kurgala in the Kingisepp district of the Leningrad region and since 2022 they have drawn up 78 protocols for violations of the deadlines for applying for a patent. From January 2020 to December 2023, they illegally registered 9,207 people with migration registration.

The police seized more than 2 million rubles in various currencies from the criminals.

The criminal investigation continues.
