Figure skater Elizaveta Tuktamysheva said that the coaches did not use violence against her
Russian figure skater, world and European champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva spoke out about violence in sports. Her words are quoted by “Mel”.
“I have never encountered this in my entire sports career. But I know that there are famous figure skaters who, unfortunately, went through this,” she said. The skater emphasized that violence cannot be justified in any way.
According to Tuktamysheva, after increasing attention to the problem, coaches began to reconsider their behavior and stopped using violent methods of education. “I think young coaches who have recently finished skating themselves will definitely not do this to their athletes,” she concluded.
Earlier, figure skater Vladimir Samoilov said that after intensive training in Eteri Tutberidze’s group, he developed health problems – back pain. “When I came to her, I already had protrusions. To which they told me: “This happens to all athletes, this is the minimum that can happen.” She knew right away, I told her. But in the end everything manifested itself in two types of hernia,” he shared.
