In Elektrostal, frozen people leave their apartments on the street to warm themselves by the fire

In Elektrostal, near Moscow, people who cannot stay in their apartments due to the cold go outside and warm themselves by a lit fire pit, Ura.ru reports with reference to the SHOT Telegram channel.

As noted in the material, residents cannot get heat into their apartments – some houses in the Vostochny microdistrict have not had it since mid-December. “They are trying to save the situation with the help of two or even more heaters, but this does not make it any warmer. <…> As a result, they went outside and lit a fire right there,” SHOT reports, supporting the message with a corresponding video.

This is how the townspeople try to attract the attention of the authorities. According to them, in some apartments the temperature is about 10 degrees, and ice is freezing on the windows.

A resident of Elektrostal from house 7 on Lenin Avenue (Severny microdistrict) also contacted the editorial office of RosBalt, in whose apartment during abnormal frosts the temperature was 13-14 degrees, and the pipes and radiators were barely warm. According to the pensioner, severe cold can also be felt in the entrance – for unknown reasons, in two entrances of the high-rise building, unlike the others, the cracked and poorly closing wooden windows were not replaced with plastic ones. As a result, frosty air whistles through the cracks. The problem has not been resolved for several years now.

It is noteworthy that, according to forecasts, temporary warming in the capital region will again be replaced by frost in a few days. Let us note that the regional prosecutor’s office has already taken up the issue of eliminating emergency situations in the Moscow region.
