The first adaptation of the book titled “Mr. Kleks’ Academy” by Jan Brzechwa was created in 1983. Krzysztof Gradowski was responsible for directing, and Piotr Fronczewski and Sławomir Wronka played the main roles. Zbigniew Buczkowski played the role of Golarz’s assistant Filip (Leon Niemczyk), i.e. Alojzy Bąbel.

The actor recently gave an interview to “Fakt”, in which he admitted that he had not had the opportunity to watch the new version of the film, which is currently enjoying great success in cinemas. “I have heard opinions that it deviates from Brzechwa’s work. This does not surprise me, because it is a contemporary film. Now it is fashionable in pop culture to create new versions of old films,” he said.
He also added that the original production was “more fairy-tale.” The actor also recalls that after the huge success of the production, children from all over Poland called him by the name of the screen hero.
Did this role in the movie influence my life? I can only say that I had funny stories related to children and my role in ‘The Academy of Mr. Kleks’. Children often called me: ‘Bubble, Bubble’. But my character, Alojzy Bąbel, was a villain and could have had negative associations with the audience because he was Mr. Kleks’ opponent,” said Buczkowski.
Moreover, the actor is convinced that “Mr. Kleks’ Academy” can now be considered a classic of Polish cinema. “It was a cool film that will never get old. The next generations will watch ‘The Academy of Mr. Kleks’ for years to come. It must be admitted that for those times it was a well-made production. Of course, I am aware that this film will definitely It will get old over time,” he said.
“What I mean here is a certain technique that was used. After some time, some special effects may seem a bit funny to viewers. But the very idea with which this film was created. The setting, costumes and beautiful characters are something fantastic and should be praised.” – added the actor.
