Signatures in support of him in the Russian presidential elections were delivered to Vladimir Putin’s central election headquarters today. Signature sheets from another 69 regions should arrive in the near future, the candidate’s election headquarters reported.
The collection of signatures in support of the current head of state began on December 23. Vladimir Putin is running in the presidential elections as a self-nominated candidate, therefore, according to the law, in order to register, he must provide at least 300 thousand voter signatures to the CEC. Their collection will last until the end of January.
Let us remind you that for the first time in the history of the country, the presidential elections in the Russian Federation will take place over three days – voting will take place from March 15 to 17, 2024. Also, for the first time, residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will participate in it.
In addition to Vladimir Putin, more than 30 people intend to run for the post of head of the Russian state. According to the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, 24 of those who submitted applications want to take part in the presidential race as self-nominated candidates, nine from political parties. In addition, the CEC received documents for registering Vladimir Putin’s proxies for the upcoming presidential elections. It will include 346 people, including Yuri Bashmet, Sergei Bezrukov, Irina Viner, Polina Gagarina, Larisa Dolina and Nikolai Tsiskaridze.
