It is necessary to welcome with joy the perseverance – a work with roots that began in 2014 -, the visionary lucidity and the narrative stature of Ernesto Carrión in this his latest novel, which is subtitled as Desquiciada, the poetic and ghostly life of Ernesto before Che .

I have already published its first two parts: Triptych of a city (2016) and pretext city, from the same year, exploring the brief presence of Ernesto Guevara, an Argentine doctor, in Guayaquil during 1953, which he seems to have taken full advantage of, using what little was known about the move: six erratic weeks around town, a small circle of friends , poverty and adventure. The second, a title derived from Guevara’s own definition, is an imagined encounter between the Argentine and William Burroughs, the beat author, who appeared in Ecuador the same year, seeking ayahuasca for his stimulated flights.

The author is familiar with Cuba: he lived in that country, some of his narratives are set there.
