Medvedev suggested that Ukraine put people in prison for cooking Olivier

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedvev proposed that Ukraine introduce criminal liability for the preparation of such popular New Year’s dishes as Olivier salad and herring under a fur coat.

The politician in his Telegram channel commented on information about a petition prepared by activists in Ukraine with a proposal to ban the preparation of these two salads in the country. According to activists, these dishes violate patriotic principles, as they are part of Russian culture.

Medvedev called on the Ukrainian authorities to imprison people for a term of three to seven years or fine them 1 million hryvnia “with the confiscation of the objects of the crime.”

“The same act, committed using one’s official position or repeated within a year from the date of commission of the first act, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of seven to 15 years,” added the ex-president of Russia.

Cooking Olivier, “committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or by an organized group, or committed on public holidays in Ukraine, or combined with the use of Crimean and Caucasian sparkling wines or Russian vodka,” should be punishable by life imprisonment, says the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council.

Earlier, Medvedev urged Russians to go on vacation to Africa instead of Europe.
