Moscow does not intend to give up its goals in the special operation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this while speaking at an extended meeting of the board of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“We are not going to give up our goals for a special military operation,” Putin said, noting that “the West is not giving up its strategy of containing Russia and its aggressive goals in Ukraine.”
The head of state also pointed to increased NATO activity near Russia’s borders. According to him, “significant forces from the United States have been deployed to the borders, and the number of alliance troops in Eastern and Central Europe has increased.” “At the same time, the aggressive nature of the bloc is no longer hidden behind defensive formulations,” Putin concluded.
The President also cited data that Russia has tripled the supply of equipment and weapons to its troops compared to 2022, and purchases of especially popular equipment for the air defense have increased sevenfold.
At the same time, according to him, the Russian army needs modern tanks and armored vehicles. The Russian leader also stated the need to equip the Russian army with robotic systems and combat lasers, weapons with artificial intelligence based on new physical principles.
Putin previously said that only 20% of college graduates are called up for military service.
