On Monday evening there was a really thick atmosphere. The dispute between Wanda Nowicka and Joanna Borowiak began at the very beginning, when the hostess mentioned the “takeover of public media”.
Argument in “Guest News”. It was about public media and Miłosz Kłeczek
The MP from the Left said that it was about restoring such media. “This television we are on is not a public medium, although that is what it is formally called, but it has little to do with public media. This is television that has served the PiS government for eight years and has no signs of objectivity or impartiality. This is “What we want to do is to restore the public character of the media. Nobody will destroy anything,” the politician appealed, but the PiS MP had a different opinion. “Polish Television, public television, national media are the guarantor of the country’s information security. They are simply needed.” Later, Borowiak invoked the Constitution, which in turn was opposed by Nowicka. “You have no right to invoke the Constitution!” – the MP thundered.
However, she only added fuel to the fire later when she mentioned , one of the most controversial hosts of Polish Television. “The way Mr. Kłeczek conducts the program… I will not call him a journalist, because he has probably never even sat next to a journalist,” she said.
After this situation, there was a sharp exchange of opinions between the politicians. “Just because you call him a journalist, it doesn’t mean that he has anything to do with journalism,” added the Left MP, to which Joanna Borowiak, sitting next to her, immediately reacted: “It’s a scandal,” she said.
