A resident of Yekaterinburg recovered 1 million rubles for his son’s injury from a water park

A court in the Sverdlovsk region concluded that the Limpopo water park must pay compensation in the amount of over a million rubles in connection with an injury received by a child while visiting the entertainment area.

The events unfolded in December 2021, when Dmitry and his one-year-old son found themselves in the Limpopo water park. During the visit, they fell down the stairs. The man received only minor injuries, but the condition of the small child was assessed as serious and had to be hospitalized, FederalPress writes.

The child’s father filed a claim against the company that manages the Limpopo water park, demanding compensation for moral damage. However, the water park refused, claiming that they were insured and claims should be addressed to their insurance company.

Then the plaintiff filed a claim with the Kamensk-Uralsky court to recover compensation for moral damages in the amount of three million rubles from the owner of the water park and his insurers. The court’s decision turned out to be partially satisfactory for the plaintiff, but representatives of the water park insisted on their innocence and filed an appeal to the regional court.

The Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court examined the complaints and rejected them, confirming the decision of the original court, which has now entered into legal force. Thus, the Limpopo water park is obliged to pay more than a million rubles as compensation for moral damage according to a court decision.
