Poll: the exhibition “Russia” aroused a feeling of pride in the country among the majority of visitors

The absolute majority (97%) of visitors to the international exhibition and forum “Russia” expressed a sense of pride in their Motherland. Nine out of ten respondents said that they gained new knowledge from visiting the exhibition. As RIA Novosti reports, Ivan Gruzdev, director of the Center for Sociology of Higher Education at the Institute of Education of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, spoke about this.

The Expert Institute for Social Research (EISR) opened its own studio at the exhibition site, where experts – political scientists, sociologists, analysts – discuss what is happening not only at the forum, but also in the country. At this site, Gruzdev said that HSE students worked at the exhibition for three weeks and conducted a survey of visitors. According to the sociologist, few people refused to fill out the questionnaire. Moreover, 65% of respondents were women.

Viktor Poturemsky, director of political analysis at the Institute of Social Marketing (INSOMAR), also said that “Russia” caused a surge of patriotism among visitors. According to him, the most frequent responses about impressions of the exhibition included words about patriotism, unity and cohesion.

Survey participants were also asked about the future of Russian youth; 93% of respondents said that young people in Russia have opportunities to realize their potential. 85% of respondents admitted that they “really liked” the content of the exhibition, 87% highly appreciated the events taking place at the exhibition.

The survey was conducted jointly by EISI, HSE and INSOMAR among 1,293 visitors to the Russia exhibition.
