The Investigative Committee of the Saratov Region will check reports about a pensioner sick with coronavirus, who was advised to “crawl home”

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Saratov Region has begun checking reports of local media about the bullying of a 70-year-old woman with COVID-19 by medical staff. When the patient wished to be discharged home due to poor quality care and after the death of her husband who remained at home, it turned out that she still could not move on her own. When it turned out that the patient’s wheelchair did not pass through the doorway, the hospital employee laughingly “advised” her to “crawl home”.

A resident of the city of Engels was admitted to the city clinical hospital No. 1 due to high blood pressure, and in the course of treatment, she also contracted the coronavirus. On admission to the covid clinic, the patient was diagnosed with 90% of lung lesions. A month and a half later, the percentage of damage to one lung dropped to 85%, the second – to 70%.

Despite the inflammation in the lungs, mouth ulcers and bruises on the legs and arms, the elderly woman refuses to return to the hospital for fear of continued abuse.
