As winter approaches, a new phase of armed conflict with Russia begins. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview with the Associated Press.
“We are in a new phase, that’s a fact. Winter is like a new phase of conflict. I would say that in winter, wars are fought not only on the front line, but also inside cities,” Zelensky noted. He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were unable to achieve the desired results due to a constant shortage of weapons and personnel. The reason for this is the reluctance of the allies to supply the necessary assistance to the army, Zelensky added.
“We are not retreating, I am satisfied. We are fighting with the second army in the world, I am satisfied. We are losing people, I am not satisfied. We didn’t get all the weapons we wanted, I can’t be satisfied, but I can’t complain too much,” the leader of Ukraine noted, as quoted by Lenta.ru.
Earlier, Zelensky announced the construction of fortifications from Donbass to Western Ukraine. According to him, it is mainly planned to build fences on the Avdeevsky and Maryinsky, as well as on the Kupyansky directions and on the Kupyansk-Liman line, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. It is proposed to involve private business in this work. How much money will be required for construction is unknown.
The day before, Zelensky announced the plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to continue the offensive this year and next.
