Putin called 70-year-old traveler Konyukhov extraordinary and tireless

The famous Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov turns 70 today, and President Vladimir Putin, in particular, congratulated him on this anniversary.

As the head of state noted in the telegram, Konyukhov is known both in Russia and “far beyond its borders.”

Putin called him “an extraordinary, strong-willed man,” as well as a “courageous and tireless” traveler.

At the same time, the president is convinced that Konyukhov’s “unique expeditions and campaigns” “adequately continue the wonderful traditions of Russian researchers and discoverers,” and are also “of great importance for the education of young people”.

We will also remind that earlier Konyukhov told RIA Novosti what he eats during his long wanderings. In particular, he stated that sea water is “the purest, tastiest and most rich in minerals.”

We add that Fyodor Konyukhov is a Soviet and Russian traveler, writer, artist, priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). He made five single-handed voyages around the world, crossed the Atlantic 17 times, and once – on a rowboat.
