The vast majority of Russians (77%) said that sex is important in their lives, only 18% of respondents say the opposite.
As the results of a survey conducted by VTsIOM showed, 66% of Russians called intimacy primarily a source of pleasure, 61% of respondents consider it a way to express love to a loved one.
As sociologists have found, less than half of respondents (42%) perceive sex as an opportunity to procreate and have children, 48% assess it as a physiological need of the body, and 9% as a marital duty and obligation.
Russians in the age range of 18-45 years who have become sexually active also talked about how often they have sex. It turned out that half of our compatriots do this once a week or more often, 24% – once or several times a month, 5% – once every few months, 5% – once every six months or less.
Moreover, according to the survey, the duration of the relationship affects the frequency of lovemaking. The results of the study suggest that after five years of a relationship, partners begin to have sex a little less often. Thus, 58-61% of people in this category make love once a week or more often, versus 63-66% among those who have been in a relationship for less than five years.
