The Qatari Foreign Ministry said that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will be in effect from 07:00 (08:00 Moscow time) on Friday, Interfax reports, citing Middle Eastern media.
It is noted that the first 13 Hamas hostages will be released at 16:00 (17:00).
Under the terms of the deal, Hamas will reportedly release 50 women and children from the 237 hostages held in the Gaza Strip. In turn, Israel will release 150 Palestinian prisoners, including women and minors, from prison. The prisoners will be released only after the Israeli hostages enter the country.
In order for the hostages to leave the Gaza Strip, a ceasefire will be introduced for four days, this will be the first stage of the deal. The second stage is that the duration of the truce can be increased – Israel is ready to add 10 additional hostages to the initially agreed upon four days a day. In total, 100 Israeli hostages and 300 Palestinian prisoners could be released thanks to the agreement. The ceasefire, according to the agreements, can last no longer than 10 days. Also, as part of the deal, the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip will be increased.
The United States, Qatar and Egypt became mediators in concluding the deal.
