Russia is the “most important threat” for Europe. This opinion was expressed by Czech President Petr Pavel at a meeting of the leaders of the Visegrad Four (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia), RBC reports.
According to him, the European army should prepare for a high-intensity conflict. Pavel added that it will take Russia years to restore its combat capability in connection with the conflict in Ukraine, however, the Czech Republic and other NATO countries still perceive Moscow as the “number one threat.”
“All armies take this threat seriously, all armies are preparing for the possibility of a high-intensity conflict in Europe,” Pavel emphasized.
“We have a common position: Russia should not win,” added Hungarian President Katalin Nowakova, supporting her Czech colleague. She also promised to try to continue helping Ukraine.
At the same time, Polish President Andrzej Duda recalled that his country is already implementing a program to modernize and strengthen the army. The President of Slovakia expressed a position in solidarity with her colleagues.
Let us recall that European countries supply Kyiv with most of the available types of weapons, including aircraft, tanks, and MLRS. Moscow condemns such deliveries, believing that the West is waging a war against Russia “with the hands” of Ukraine.
