9to5Mac: Early versions of the Apple Watch had an outdated charging system
Gadget collector Giulio Zompetti has revealed an early Apple Watch prototype. This was reported by 9to5Mac.
The specialist did not tell how he managed to obtain a rare sample. According to him, the prototype is dated December 2013 – two years before the announcement of the first generation Apple Watch.
Judging by the images, the device has the same design as the regular Apple Watch. However, the device received a digital crown of a different shape, sensors located in one row for measuring heart rate, and an outdated charging pad. According to Zompetti, the watch does not connect to any modern charger.
The collector said that the Apple watch prototype runs on SwitchBoard, a special software that is used to test gadgets in the American company. With its help, engineers check the performance of devices before release.
At the end of September 2021, collector Giulio Zompetti showed a photo of a prototype iPod touch with a titanium case. According to the specialist, Apple ultimately chose an aluminum case for the player, which collects scratches faster than titanium.
