The little panda from the Moscow Zoo delighted fans with new skills. The cub began to hear and see.

The baby also actively reacts to what is happening – and even barked at the zoological staff.

Let us remind you that in 2019, two giant pandas were transferred to Moscow from China. This event was timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between states. Until the middle of the last century, China gave giant pandas to some countries as a sign of friendship and future development of relations. However, later this species was recognized as endangered and in need of protection. Since 1982, zoos around the world have received these charming animals only on lease. According to the agreement, all offspring born to “rental pandas” are the property of China.

Cases of panda births in captivity are rare. The Moscow little panda is also unique because its parents, Ruyi and Dindin, are very young: they are seven and six years old. Typically, the first cub of giant pandas is born when the parents reach the age of 8-10 years.

The baby was born on August 30th. Her weight was only 150 g. Only the mother panda cares for the offspring – the father, like all bears, does not participate in raising them. The cub will receive a name on the 100th day after birth.
