Patryk Vega showed the trailer for the film “Putin”. It’s so stupid, it’s scary

Is this Daniel Craig as the new James Bond? Or maybe the next installment of “Mission Impossible”? No, it’s “Putin” directed by Patryk Vega. And yes, there is everything here – including Putin in a dirty diaper, explosions, war, corpses, conspiracy (definitely more than one) and deep fake technology.

“Putin” has been officially announced. From the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the director warned that the world would see a film about the Russian dictator directed by him. The warnings turned out to be true in June, when the first, short trailer of “Putin” appeared on the Internet. Now we’ve got a longer teaser and oh my, what isn’t there.

The production has so far appeared under a different title: “The Vor in Law” is being created for the foreign market, hence the less Polish title. Now, however, there is no trace of “The Vor in Law” (i.e. “the thief in the law” – a criminal under the guise of legal activities). The latest trailer shows a completely new title: “Putin”.

Patryk Vega has not revealed too many details so far. Now we know that it will be a mix of confusion, explosions, naked Putin persecuted by little Putin from childhood, betrayals and scheming – classic Patrick Vega. However, the director likes technological innovations, so the role of Putin will be played not by a real actor, but by a computer-generated deep fake. It is true that Putin looks more like Daniel Craig in the latest trailer, but there is probably nothing that can be done about it.

What will Patryk Vega’s “Putin” be about?

The “plot” of this work is a combination of various threads from the life of the Russian dictator. We will see how he came to power, who he intimidated, how and how he solved problems in St. Petersburg and then in the country with the help of the services subordinated to him. There will be a war in Chechnya and an attack on the theater in Dubrovka. But Vega would also like to reflect Putin’s state of mind and psyche. For this purpose, the dictator will be accompanied by his younger self, persecuting him at every step. “The idea is to vivisect Putin’s psyche and the Russian soul,” Vega argued.

How did it turn out? We will find out soon. The exact release date has not yet been announced, but “Putin” is scheduled to hit theaters in February next year. The production budget was supposed to be $12 million
