A 66-year-old crime boss from the Orenburg region, Sergei Korchagin, was detained in the Moscow region. As the Orengrad edition explains, Korchagin was detained in his own house. The search revealed a Scorpion submachine gun, documents and other evidence of his criminal activity.
At the same time, two accomplices of Korchagin were detained in the city of Orsk.
“It was preliminarily established that the detainees were involved in the attempted murder of a 65-year-old businessman in the city of Orsk, committed in 2006 by detonating a Volga car moving along the road with an explosive,” reports the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Orenburg region. – They are also suspected of organizing and executing the murders of two residents of Orsk. One was shot with a pistol at the entrance of his house, the second was shot from a machine gun in a car. The murders were committed in 2005 and 2006 and have remained unsolved to this day. ”
According to operational data, the organized group was engaged in the illegal circulation of weapons, drugs, extortion, “protection” of business, fraud in the financial and credit sphere and other types of criminal activity. Sergei Korchagin himself was since 2008 the so-called “overseer” of the Orenburg region, was responsible for the formation of the criminal “common fund”. He also acted as a criminal judge in resolving disputes between representatives of the criminal world.
The operational development of the suspects was carried out for several years and was under the personal control of the head of the Orenburg Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the near future, the criminals will be charged.
