Leonardo’s airline ticket booking system has been attacked by hackers twice. The state corporation Rostec reported this on its Telegram channel.
The first DDOS attack took place on the morning of September 28. Airlines reported that airports had problems with check-in, which began to be done manually. It was noted that Russian airlines, including Aeroflot, Pobeda, Rossiya, Ural Airlines, and Red Wings, had difficulties with registration. Rossiya Airlines, in particular, delayed seven flights, six from Sheremetyevo and one from Sochi. The delay was up to one hour, RBC clarifies. By 12:00 the system had resumed operation.
A little later, Rostec reported that the attacks had resumed. “At the moment there are minor glitches, but overall the system is holding up confidently thanks to the actions of our specialists,” the message noted. Rostec also called the hackers’ goal to stop air travel in Russia.
The message also indicated that the attacks were carried out from the territory of several countries, including Ukraine.
Let us recall that last year all 53 Russian airlines were forced to switch to domestic reservation systems. Rostec transferred Russian companies to the Leonardo platform developed by Sirena-Travel.
