A security post has appeared at the grave of Yevgeny Prigozhin, who died in a plane crash, at the Porokhovskoye cemetery in St. Petersburg, MK reports.
The material notes that round-the-clock duty was established after an unknown person stole a violin, which, along with a sledgehammer, was brought to the burial place of the founder of the Wagner group. Both of these items, due to videos on social networks, have become kind of informal symbols of the unit.
As a cemetery worker told MK, eyewitnesses said that an unknown person on a bicycle quickly left the cemetery on the day of the emergency, but they did not detain him. “After this, a video camera and a booth were installed near Prigozhin’s grave, where they put a guard; the guard actually lives there. As I understand it, the Wagnerites did this, and they coordinated the actions with their superiors. Now there is a security guard on duty there 24 hours a day. We give him water, we installed electricity,” the publication’s interlocutor explained.
Let us recall that Prigozhin’s business jet, flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg, crashed in the Tver region on the evening of August 23, killing passengers and crew members. According to the Investigative Committee, the remains found at the scene of the plane crash “correspond to the list stated in the flight manifest.” According to the airline, it included Yevgeny Prigozhin and the commander of the Wagner group, Dmitry Utkin. An investigation into the cause of the plane crash is underway.
