Flights on Czech aircraft L-410 were stopped in the Kamchatka Territory from September 1 due to a lack of spare parts. This was reported by the press service of the government of the region, reports RBC.
Stopping the operation of the L-410 is associated with the “end of resources” – the aircraft can no longer be operated according to the regulations, the authorities of the region specified. They noted that difficulties with deliveries through parallel imports led to this situation. Maintenance of the L-410 is hampered by logistical costs and increased prices for parts. The operation of Czech aircraft in Kamchatka has been suspended until the issue of the supply of spare parts is resolved. The L-410 will be replaced by other types of aircraft from the fleet of the Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise.
According to RBC, in 2010-2011 Kamchatka received three new L-410s manufactured at the Czech plant Aircraft Industries. They were purchased with funds from the federal and regional budgets.
Kamchatka has become the second Russian region that has refused to operate foreign aircraft. At the beginning of 2023, the Komi authorities made a similar decision. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, there are seven commercial L-410 operators in Russia, with 28 such aircraft in their fleets.
