Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the speculation of the West that the Kremlin could allegedly be involved in the death of the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin.

According to him, they are all “served from a certain angle.” Peskov called this kind of statement “an absolute lie.” “And here, of course, it is necessary, when covering this issue, to be based solely on facts,” the Kremlin spokesman said, responding to a request from journalists to comment on such statements.

Speaking about the causes of the crash of Prigozhin’s business jet Embraer Legacy, Peskov said that there are still few facts, they will have to be clarified by the investigation.

Answering a question about the future of Wagner PMC, Peskov reminded reporters that “there is no such structure.” “Let’s not forget that there is no such structure, there is no de jure Wagner PMC. There is, indeed, the Wagner group, which, as the President has repeatedly said, has made a great contribution to the course of the SVO, ”said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.

In addition, he could not answer the question whether the head of state could attend Prigozhin’s funeral if the latter’s death was confirmed. “It is not yet known,” Peskov said.

Recall that the business jet Embraer Prigozhin, flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg, crashed on the evening of August 23 in the Tver region. The Federal Air Transport Agency stated that Prigozhin was on board the crashed plane.
