The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, spoke about the prerequisites for a devastating explosion at a gas station in the suburbs of Makhachkala, as a result of which more than 100 people were injured and 35 were killed.

“At the forefront are greed and greed. When people try to violate security measures in order to profit,” the head of the region said, noting that a service station cannot be located next to a gas station for security reasons. “If only for the reason that maintenance involves welding work, and the filling complex provides for the storage of flammable liquids and gas,” Melikov explained.

He also announced that the investigating authorities had opened a criminal case in connection with the explosion.

In turn, the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Viktor Fisenko said that more than 60 victims continue to be in hospitals in Makhachkala, 11 of them are in serious condition. Severe patients are planned to be evacuated to the federal centers of the Ministry of Health and to Moscow.

Recall that on Monday evening there was an explosion in front of the Nafta 24 gas station in the suburbs of Makhachkala. 35 people died, more than 100 were injured.
