Coach Valery Karpin denied information about the return to Spartak in 2022
The head coach of the Russian national team and “Rostov” Valery Karpin reacted to the information about the return to the Moscow “Spartak”. His words are quoted by Sport24.
The specialist denied the rumors and called them nonsense. He stressed that he did not communicate with any of the representatives of Spartak. “I didn’t even have a reason to leave Rostov, not to mention the desire,” Karpin added.
Earlier, journalist Andrey Pankov announced an offer to Karpin to head Spartak in 2022. It was noted that the specialist could lead the team after the departure of Leonid Fedun from the post of president of the club.
Karpin returned to Rostov in March 2022. He previously worked at the club from 2017 to 2021. The specialist headed the national team in the summer of 2021. The agreement is valid until August 2024.
Spartak Karpin coached from 2009 to 2014. Under his leadership, the team took the silver of the Russian championship twice.
