Russian President Vladimir Putin signed documents supplementing the legislation on foreign agents. The texts of laws are published on the official portal of legal information.
According to one of the signed laws, which amends the Code of Administrative Offenses, a foreign agent is not entitled to receive from the state not only financial, but also other property support, including in the implementation of creative activities.
Another law empowers the Ministry of Justice to exercise state control over compliance with the law on “foreign agents” and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections, and also provides for a ban on Russian citizens recognized as “foreign agents” to receive property support from the state. The department will monitor how the legislation on “foreign agents” is observed not only by those who have such a status, but also by those who interact with them.
Fines are set for violators: up to 50 thousand rubles for citizens, up to 100 thousand rubles for officials and up to 300 thousand for legal entities.
