Western countries are set to build up sanctions pressure on the Russian military-industrial complex. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said in an interview with CBS that the West continues to work on further tightening sanctions, “devastating Russia’s military-industrial base” and also weakening its ability to produce advanced technological developments.

According to Sullivan, if the Russian Federation decides to continue participating in the military conflict, then it will cost her dearly.

He added that the United States will continue to provide Ukraine with the support it needs for as long as it takes.

Earlier, Sullivan announced the start of deliveries of cluster munitions to Ukraine. In this regard, the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled the statement of the White House press secretary dated February 28, 2022, in which it was announced that “the use of cluster munitions is a war crime.”

According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Federation has “a sufficient stock of various kinds of cluster munitions” and if such ammunition is used by Ukraine, the Russian army can respond in the opposite way.
