More than a hundred people were evacuated from the flood zone in the Tuapse district of the Kuban after heavy rains hit the region on Saturday. This was told by the head of the district Sergei Boyko.

According to him, people are now safe – in temporary accommodation centers.

Boyko noted that the elements covered the Novomikhailovsky settlement of the Tuapse region. He pointed out that torrential downpours and rising river levels caused flooding.

According to the press service of the administration of the Tuapse district, in the village of Novomikhailovsky, a pedestrian bridge across the Nechepsukho River was washed away because of a downpour. The administration said that local residents can use an alternative crossing – a bridge along Shahumyan Street.

Recall that the other day in four settlements of the Tuapse district of the Kuban introduced a state of emergency due to heavy rains. The regime operates in the Dzhubgsky, Tenginsky, Novomikhailovsky and Nebugsky settlements. Earlier, the Sochi authorities closed all the beaches due to heavy rains, hail and tornadoes that hit the city. In connection with the storm, local authorities did not rule out a sharp rise in the water level in the rivers to unfavorable levels.
