During the operation of the Black Sea initiative, one part of which involves assistance in the export of Russian fertilizers, not a single ship with this cargo was sent from Russia. This, according to RIA Novosti, was announced in the UN Coordination Center created as part of the deal.

They explained that the export of fertilizers depends on the situation with the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline, blown up on June 5, but at present “its status is unknown.”

The center also spoke about the situation with grain exports. In particular, applications for participation in the deal were received from 29 courts, but since June 27 none has been approved. It is also noted that only 10% of corn and 40% of wheat exported under the deal went to the poorest countries.

Recall that the “grain deal” Russia and Ukraine concluded separately in July last year through the mediation of Turkey and the UN. The agreement consists of two parts. The first concerns the export of Ukrainian agricultural products from the ports of Odessa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny.

The second involves lifting restrictions on Russian exports of agricultural products.

Moscow, however, claimed that the second part of the agreements regarding the export of Russian products was not being implemented, and the declared goal of the agreement – to supply food to the poorest countries – was not relevant to reality. The deal expires July 17th.

To further extend the deal, Russia called for reconnecting Rosselkhozbank to SWIFT, resuming the supply of agricultural machinery and spare parts, lifting restrictions on insurance and reinsurance, and lifting the ban on access to ports.
