Between the years 2019 and 2022, the Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel) fined more than S/2.4 million to the operating companies of the sector in the Ica region for breaching commitments to improve the quality of service coverage (CCS) and voice quality (CV).

The sanctions imposed declared firm in this period, equivalent to 573.92 tax units (UIT), were due to non-compliance by the operating companies with the commitments to improve the aforementioned quality standards in the towns of Los Piscontes, Los Alquiles, Pampa de Tate and Alto LarĂ¡n.

Of the total sanctions, Movistar totaled S/1 million 462,200 (equivalent to 341 UIT) for fines, thus becoming the most penalized in the last four years.

However, failure to comply with the improvement commitments entails sanctions, added Piccini.

During this time, three improvement commitments were requested from Entel, the official specified.

In this first semester of 2023, inspection actions will continue in 20 populated centers of this region.
