From December 2, public officials must present the certificate or vaccination card against COVID-19

The measure is a provision of the national COE and applies to workers in the Executive function who work in person.

From December 2nd, all the public officials who work in person must present the vaccination certificate or card against the coronavirus, with the complete scheme. This is one of the resolutions adopted by the Emergency Operations Committee (COE), on November 30, to mitigate the risks of contagion from the new omicron variant of COVID-19.

For this purpose, the COE ordered the Ministry of Labor that issues the regulations corresponding so that all public institutions of the Executive request the document from the employees.

The officials who are not vaccinated with the full doses they will go to teleworking. The resolution allows the highest authority of each institution to set exceptions, in order to guarantee the provision of public services.

In addition, the COE urged that all agencies of the Autonomous Decentralized Governments (GAD), autonomous entities and other institutions of the public and private sector, to promote the safety of their personnel regarding vaccination plans.

On November 29, the President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, announced eight measures compared to the omicron variant of COVID-19, among which is that for everything public sector building the presentation of complete vaccination certificates. Lasso urged that the same be replicated in cinemas, theaters, bars, nightclubs, stadiums, shopping centers or the like. (I)
