Russian companies offer applicants numerous vacancies and increase salaries, but there is no one to hire, the Vedomosti newspaper writes, citing data from recruiters.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, the real sector suffers the most in this situation. The Bank of Russia reported that since the beginning of 2023, the industry has recorded the lowest staffing over the past 25 years.
Personnel shortage has led to record low unemployment in the country, the newspaper notes. According to Rosstat, in May this figure was at the level of 3.2%. Due to the lack of available candidates, companies are forced to offer potential employees ever higher salaries. Rosstat notes that in April of this year, the average accrued nominal salary in Russia amounted to 71,204 rubles, which is 13% higher than the same indicator in 2022.
At the same time, recruiters interviewed by the newspaper note that the increase in salaries is a necessary measure and the only way to quickly close emerging vacancies.
