Three young people died in a collision on motorcycles without helmets and driver’s licenses in Yakutia, according to the republican traffic police. One girl survived the accident, she was hospitalized.
According to the traffic police, the accident occurred on Friday morning in the village of Bysyttaakh, Nyurbinsky district, on the Chukar-Bysyttaakh municipal highway. Law enforcement officers note that the width of the roadway at the accident site is 3.8 meters, the surface is unpaved, dry.
A 19-year-old driver, while driving a Regulmoto Crossroad-1 motorcycle without state registration plates, reportedly drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Regulmoto sk-150-6 motorcycle without state registration plates, driven by an 18-year-old young man. As a result of the collision, both motorcycle drivers and one of the passengers, a 16-year-old teenager, were killed. Another passenger, an 18-year-old girl, was taken to the Nyurba hospital with serious injuries.
It is noted that both drivers did not have the right to drive vehicles, and motorcycles were not registered with the traffic police. In addition, none of the participants in the tragedy had helmets or other means of protection, the state traffic inspectorate clarifies.
The prosecutor’s office of the Nyurbinsky district is investigating the fact of the accident. As a result, an assessment will be given to “the causes and conditions of an accident, compliance with the legislation on highways and other issues.” The Investigative Committee of Yakutia also began a procedural check of the accident.
